Service-learning is a teaching method that combines meaningful service to the community with curriculum-based learning. Students improve their academic skills by applying what they learn in school to the real world; they then reflect on their experience to reinforce the link between their service and their learning.

Our youth volunteering opportunities will allow SMJGA to further its commitment to help develop and expand youth teachings through service-oriented practices that help develop skills and tools necessary to help their community. Our program gives our high school students all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to the SMJGA programs as well as help meet their high school graduation requirements.

Student Service Learning hours is not limited to SMJGA members, but all high school students in Prince George's County interested in getting involved and giving back. Please visit the site to learn more about our various programs and start your participation by registering online.
